The mummy of the "polar beauty" was found in the archaeological complex "Green Yar" near Salekhard. Apparently, the deceased was beautiful – the mummy retained long eyelashes, thick hair and good teeth.

During the excavations of the Zeleny Yar archaeological complex, scientists found the mummy of a woman in a 12th-century burial. Apparently, the deceased was a beauty – the mummy retained long eyelashes, thick hair and a full mouth of teeth. The find is reported The Siberian Times.

The archaeological complex "Green Yar" is located 40 kilometers east of Salekhard. The first excavations here were carried out in 1976, and ceramic shards were found. Subsequently, the remains of a foundry of the 6th-7th centuries and about 50 burials, including collective ones, were found in the Green Yar. Copper objects were found in them: a bracelet, a cauldron and plates from a cauldron. In some burials, the remains of fur clothes and shoes were preserved, in which the dead were buried. Burials date back to the 8th-9th and 13th centuries.
